Some forty or fifty years ago I was at a women’s conference and the speaker said, “what has happened to the virtues of loyalty, truth, morality? They’re slowly eroding away in society.” I wonder what he would think if he was alive today. Let me here, define some of these words. Loyalty- being faithful, constant in any relation or obligation, implying trust and confidence. Truth- right, honest, right according to divine law, someone who is truthful is reliable, trustworthy, someone you can place your confidence in. Morality? Having standards of right behavior. It seems there are those who want to rewrite the Bible (and some do twist scripture). Theres an interesting verse in the book of Jeremiah 4:16 NKJV, “Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, where the good way is, And walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, “we will not walk in it.” (Whoa! We will not!) but it is no different today. The book of Ecclesiastes says in 1:9, “That which has been is what will be, that which is done will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.” And in Matthew 24:37 we read, “For it will be exactly like it was in the days of Noah when the Son of Man appears.” We should always live ready for His appearing.
There are some who thumb their noses at God today, in the world we live in. In the book of Romans ch.1 it says, “The truth of God is known instinctively, for God has embedded this knowledge inside every human heart.” Still, some say “we will not”. Throughout human history, the fingerprints of God are upon mankind, yet they refuse to honor Him as God or even be thankful for His kindness. Instead, they entertained corrupt and foolish thoughts about what God was like….steeped in moral darkness, moral depravity, sexual perversion, vile passions, lustful, breaking all rules of proper conduct, wicked schemes, greed, cruelty, liars, hostile, heartless…oh my, do I need to say more? Rom 1:19, 21-31. I heard a song recently titled “I Believe”. So good! I believe The Word Of God and I believe God has made a provision for us to be forgiven by faith in the sacred blood of Jesus. If someone does not believe in God and His Word, have at it! Do as you please, but do not expect me to agree with you.
