The Eastern Kentucky University men's cross country team won the Miami (Ohio) RedHawk Rumble with a perfect score of 15 points on Saturday morning.
The EKU women's team, meanwhile, finished second, losing only to host Miami by a single point.
Senior Fred Kanda led a slew of Colonels at the head of the men's race. The veteran won the individual title, covering the 8K course in a time of 24:27.5.
Junior Zak Kirk was right on Kanda's heels, finishing second overall in 14:29.3. Freshman Nikodem Dworczak delivered an impressive collegiate debut, placing third out of 44 overall competitors with a time of 24:30.6.
Miami finished second on the men's side with 55 points. Morehead State was third with 78 points.
The EKU women were led by freshman Viola Seromot, who won the individual title with a 6K time of 21:45.6
Miami won the women's race with 26 points, narrowly edging EKU at 27 points. Morehead State finished with 85 points in the women's race.
EKU returns to action on October 4 at the Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational.
