The Lee Co. high school archery team competed in the first ever All A archery tournament in Hindman on Jan. 4th, placing second overall with Katie Bowman placing third among the female archers. We would like to thank everyone that supports the archery team. Info via Jeff Perdue

If marijuana legalization still seems like a distant issue, something that’s happening out West or in Canada, it won’t be that way for long.  On January 1st, it will be as close as a drive across the Ohio River, thanks to Illinois’ decision to become the 11th state allowing adult recreational use.

Everyone around the world deserves to lead a life of dignity and opportunity. That’s why as we mark World AIDS Day on December 1st, I applaud Rep. Rogers for his leadership in fighting global health threats like AIDS, which still claims over 2,000 lives every day.
