MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team is excited to welcome Jaymie Bernbeck to its coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

Bernbeck, who is a native of Garden City, Kan., joins head coach Greg Todd's staff after playing three seasons at Nebraska-Kearney and earning a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in health science. During her time at UNK, Bernbeck started in 26 games at the forward position and shot 50 percent from the field. She also performed well in the classroom where she was a three-time Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association Academic Honor Roll member.

"Our staff believes Jaymie (Bernbeck) will be a nice asset to our program," said Todd. "She brings with her a great skill set and a strong basketball background having played at the junior college level and in Division II."

Following her senior season at UNK, Bernbeck was awarded the first "Heart of a Loper" award which was created in her honor because of her relentless dedication to team values and willingness to put her team first.

Bernbeck played her freshman season in her hometown at Garden City Community College (Kan.).

During her time at Morehead State, Bernbeck will pursue her master's degree in wellness promotion.
