Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's and women's cross country teams announced their 2019 schedule, with five events slated on the calendar. Highlighting the season includes trips back to the Greater Louisville Classic and NAIA Great Lake Challenge.

Head Coach Randy Greer, now in his fifth season, set his expectations high with scheduling a strong mid-season grind against tough NAIA competition. Both teams are coming off third-place finishes at the 2018 MSC Championships.

"I am really excited about the schedule that we have this year," Greer said. "I really think we can make some noise nationally with this group."

The runners will open their season on September 7 at the Mid-South Conference Preview, taking place at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, KY.

Through the following month and a half, the Patriots will travel to Ohio, northwest Kentucky and Michigan for meets hosted by Cedarville, Louisville and Aquinas. The Greater Louisville Classic boasts strong NCAA and NAIA competition from around the Midwest, while many national qualifiers will attend the Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, MI.

"We will see a lot of good NAIA competition at those meets and those will have implications on our national rankings," Greer said. "We will go into post season after Aquinas and hopefully be able to qualify both teams on to the national meet."

The Patriots will travel back to Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, KY for the conference championships in early November. Pending qualification, the crew will then make the trip across the country to the NAIA Championships in Vancouver, WA.

Veteran runners Nicolas Grandperrin and Mitchell Miracle will be returning for the men's team in 2019, while Evelyn MooreLauren McHan and Tara Todd add experience for the women, coming off a stellar track season as well.

Thirteen freshmen runners have been added into the mix this season, fighting for top-seven contention. A few transfers will take to the courses as well.

The Patriots will get their first look at conference opposition in their first trip to the MSC Preview on September 7 in Bowling Green, KY.
