Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor, in consultation with Madison County Fire Chief Tim Gray, lifted the countywide burn ban put into effect by Executive Order on Aug. 9.

Citizens are still required to adhere to the current Kentucky Forestry Burn Ban that is in effect annually in Kentucky from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15 and Feb. 15 through April 30.

The Forestry Ban states it is illegal to burn anything between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland. For more information visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/dbnf/alerts-notices/

In addition, citizens residing within the city limits of Richmond and Berea are still required to acquire permits prior to any burning.
