PIKEVILLE, Ky. – UPIKE football was picked to finish sixth in the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass division, MSC officials announced on Friday.

This season will be UPIKE's first season in the Bluegrass division after this summer's divisional realignment. The Bears return a majority of its starters from last season's 6-5 squad, including 2018 MSC All-Conference quarterback Bowen Smith and running back Xondre Willis.

Cumberlands (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson were picked co-favorites of the division with 42 points with two first-place votes each. Bethel finished one point behind with 41, but also received four first-place votes.

Georgetown came in fourth with 35 points. Campbellsville placed just ahead of UPIKE in fifth with 22 points, while Pikeville had 19. Cumberland (Tenn.) with 16 points and new MSC member Thomas More with seven points rounded out the division.

Pikeville opens the season in just under four weeks time with a Thursday night special against NCAA D-I foe Murray State on the road on August 29th. The Bears first home game is slated for September 14th against Bluefield.
