The 2019 JCHS Generals hosted Lynn Camp in the second game of the young season last Friday night. The Generals were looking to recover from their first loss in the Battle of Big Hill Bowl. However, Lynn Camp proved too much and the Generals were defeated by a final score of 16-32.
The Generals passed the ball for a total of 68 yards while allowing the Lynn Camp Wildcats only 32 yards in the air. However, it was a different game running the ball. The Generals rushed for a total of only 58 yards while allowing the Wildcats to run the ball for a total of 270 yards.
Coach McDaniels reported, “First, let me say how proud I am of our kids for playing their guts out tonight. I ask them before the game to attack tonight with a blue collar mentality and to play as hard as they could. I told them if we did that, I liked our chances. We played with a good football team for around 41 minutes and the game just got away from us. We have to get better in all 3 phases of the game and that’s directly on me to make that happen.
Second, hats off to Lynn Camp… Coach Harris has done a great job there and has sustained success. His players are battled tested and I felt like that showed late in the game.
We are close as a football team. If our kids continue believing and trust the process, I like the way our team is forming. We have a bye coming up that we will use to get our bodies back some and focus on how we can get better. If we continue playing with the effort we had vs Lynn Camp, I like our chances moving forward.”
The Generals will not play this week and will use the time to prepare for the next game. They will host Jenkins on Friday September 13th with a kick-off time scheduled for 7:30 PM.
Jenkins will also be looking for their first win of the young season coming into the game 0-2.
