Marty Jones pleads guilty to sexual misconduct and sexual abuse before Judge Allen B. Roberts

According to information supplied by the Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Marty Jones, 22, of Sand Gap, KY appeared in District Court on Monday, February 25th, 2019 before Judge Allen B. Roberts to address charges against him that were scheduled for a jury trial on March 28, 2019. The charges stem from a grand jury indictment on September 06th, 2016 (16-M-171) against Jones alleging that on or about the week of December 25th, 2015 he committed the offense of “Sexual Misconduct” when he engaged in sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age without the person’s consent, and being one of numerous occasions. The indictment noted that at the time of the alleged offense Jones was at least 18 years old but less than 21 years of age. In addition, the indictment charges that during the same time period (on or about the week of December 25th, 2015) Jones committed the offense of “Sexual Abuse, 2nd degree” by subjecting this same person less than 16 years of age to sexual abuse when he touched her genitals in her residence and being one of numerous occasions.

Marty Jones pled guilty to both charges before Judge Roberts. The court accepted Jone’s guilty plea as being made voluntarily, knowingly, and intelligently. For the charge of “sexual misconduct” Jones was sentenced to 90 days in jail counting the time already served (21 days). For the charge of “sexual abuse, 2nd degree” Jones was also sentenced to 90 days in jail counting the time already served (21 days).
