Polaris Ranger

Deputy Daniel Isaacs was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff's Office and discovered the stolen Polaris Ranger on Sacker Road in Clay County with substantial damage 

According to police reports, Deputy Daniel Isaacs received a burglary complaint on June 30, 2019 associated with a residence on Baldwin Branch Road near Annville, KY. Upon investigation Deputy Isaacs spoke with Harold Thompson. Thompson stated that Bruce and Judy Kauffman had recently purchased the property and was in the process of moving from Wisconsin and he was watching the place for them in the interim. Thompson stated that when he arrived that day to the Baldwin Branch residence he noticed that a Polaris Ranger side x side valued at $12,000 was missing from an outbuilding and that several items were missing from inside the home. Deputy Isaacs was able to research and verify the VIN number for the missing Polaris Ranger.

On July 02nd, 2019 Jackson County Deputy Zach Bryant obtained information of a red Polaris Ranger matching the description of the one stolen from Baldwin Branch sitting in the woods unoccupied on Sacker Road in Clay County. Deputy Bryant and Deputy Isaacs contacted Clay County Deputies Jeremy Gabbard and Dewey Grubb and they met at the Sacker Road location. After a brief search they located the Polaris side x side and confirmed that it was the one stolen. There had been approximately $1,000 worth of damage done to the vehicle. The front and rear windshields were missing, the bed was missing, and the vehicle was missing an electronic control module.

In addition, Jody Kaufmann informed Deputy Isaacs that additional items stolen from the residence included: 2 – yellow 50 ft extension cords valued at $30 each, 1 – yellow 100 ft extension cord valued at $80, 1 – Dewalt Skil Saw valued at $138, 1 – heavy duty rain coat (green) valued at $55, 1 – Briggs and Stratton air compressor, 3 gallon with 9 piece accessory kit valued at $69, and 2 – pipe wrenches valued at $18 each.
