Joy Allen Fletcher, 86, Jackson passed away Sunday, June 16, at the Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Campton. She and Frank founded the Breathitt Funeral Home where she was not only a co-owner but a funeral director. She also worked as a postmaster, at Citizens Bank and at Middle Kentucky KRADD. She was a member of the Jackson Woman’s Club and the Breathitt County School Advisory Committee. She also served on the board of Middle Kentucky KRADD. She was the widow of the late Frank Fletcher and the daughter of the late George and Jalia Turner Allen. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Allen, John Allen, Chase Allen.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Allen (Tracy) Fletcher of Jackson, George Leighton Fletcher (Cheryl Pearson) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Sarah Leighton Fletcher of Lexington, Allen Fletcher of Lexington.
Funeral Wednesday, June 19, 11 a.m. at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Jackson Cemetery. Breathitt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
