Subject was observed standing and holding onto a pole near the end of his driveway yelling and cursing at his son who was unarmed.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Cloyd along with Major Chuck Johnson, Capt. Kevin Berry, Sgt. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Deputy Gary Mehler and his K-9 “Edge”, Detective James Sizemore, and Deputy Hunter Disney arrested Lester Lawson age 69 of Foley Rd., Corbin on Wednesday afternoon March 13, 2019 at approximately 4:25 PM. The arrest occurred off Foley Road, approximately 10 miles South of London after this subject allegedly called 911 reporting an active shooter situation at his residence stating his son had a gun and was trying to shoot him and trying to steal his truck. This individual reportedly cursed dispatchers and hung up on the police dispatcher. When deputies arrived at the scene this subject was observed standing and holding onto a pole near the end of his driveway yelling and cursing at his son who was unarmed. Deputies detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from this subject and learned that he had been taking Klonopin and Neurotin and was determined to be under the influence. Deputies determined that the incident he reported was a total fabrication. Lester Lawson was charged with falsely reporting an incident; alcohol intoxication in a public place.
