For the first-time ever, Manchester will be home to their very own museum!

On Thursday, December 5th beginning at 1 p.m. visitors will be welcomed into the Clay We Were Museum located at the Clay County Historical Society in downtown Manchester.

Historical Society President Mike White says it’s a day they’ve waited a long time for.

“We’ve put in a lot of hard work and effort to make the dream of having our own museum come to life,” he said.  “We are very appreciative to those who have donated items, money and their time to making this a reality.”

Clay County will be one of only a handful of historical society’s statewide with their own museum.

“It’s quite an accomplishment for a society the size of ours to have their own museum,” White said.  “We want to invite everyone to come and take a look at this piece of history.”

The opening of the museum will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday until 5 p.m.

The museum will be open each Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
