Grand jury members will be hearing the details in the murder of Eddie Spurlock in the coming weeks.
District judge Allen Roberts bound the murder charge facing Ricky Wagers to the grand jury during a preliminary hearing on the case Monday morning.
Wagers, 29, of Rice’s Fork, is accused of shooting Eddie Spurlock, 46, of Hyden, several times with a shotgun at a home on Elk Creek Sunday, September 22.
Wagers fled the scene following the shooting and police found him a short time later on Rice’s Fork.
Sources described the two men as friends and were shocked the shooting occurred.
Sheriff Patrick Robinson is investigating the case and will make a presentation to the grand jury.
Wagers is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
