One dead, Ricky Wagers charged

UPDATE-- Police have charged Ricky Wagers, 29, of Manchester, in the murder of Eddie Spurlock Sunday night at a home on U.S. 421 in the Elk Creek area.  Wagers citation says he shot Spurlock several times with a shotgun.

UPDATE: 10:48 p.m. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Department arrested the alleged shooter on Rice's Fork off U.S. 421 at Elk Creek.  More details will follow

The Enterprise has confirmed one person is dead following a shooting on Elk Creek Sunday night.  The Clay County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police and Manchester Police Department are currently searching for the shooter in the Elk Creek area. 

Police have not released the identity of the victim.

All residents in the area are advised to lock their doors and notify police if they see someone suspicious around their home.  We will keep you updated as details are released on this developing story.
