 After Facebook, television and newspaper reports, numerous tips have been received indicating that the suspect was John Schell.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root received information on the whereabouts of a wanted individual being sought by the Laurel County Sheriff’s office for a robbery which occurred at Loves truck stop on March 1, 2019 at approximately 6:30 AM. ten  miles South of London off Ky 770. Since the robbery, and the posting of surveillance photos of the suspect on the Laurel County Sheriff’s office Facebook page and television and newspapers, numerous tips have been received by the Laurel County Sheriff’s office indicating that the suspect pictured was John Schell. After Sheriff Root received a tip on the suspects location, Laurel Sheriff’s deputies and detectives traveled to Pleasure View Road approximately 2 miles South of London armed with a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards where the suspect was arrested in his mobile home without incident.

He is identified as John L. Schell age 49 of Pleasure View Rd., London charged with robbery – second-degree; wanton endangerment – first-degree; theft by unlawful taking – auto – $500 or more but under $10,000; fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle; fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot. The 2006 Chevrolet van that Schell was operating during the robbery was a reported stolen vehicle. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County detention center.. Assisting on the investigation and arrest was Laurel Sheriff John Root, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Sgt. Greg Poynter, Detective James Sizemore, Detective Kyle Gray, Deputy Travis Napier, and Deputy Hunter Disney.
