James Alex Jackson, age 55, of Jacks Branch Road (Manchester) was arrested when Deputy Tommy Houston observed a pickup traveling North on 421 operating with one headlight March 11 at 1 AM according to Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson. Houston initiated a traffic stop and Jackson accelerated onto Hogskin Road until Jackson turned up a closed road, reached a dead end and attempted to flee on foot. Houston apprehended the subject within a few feet of the vehicle and determined he was impaired. He refused blood testing at Advent Health Manchester.
