The Tigers are on a roll. Coach Jason Smith and Co. are riding a six-game win streak, as they look toward Jackson County in the first round of district play on Monday evening at North Laurel. A recap of the Tigers winning streak will be listed below.
South Laurel – Clay dominated the Cards to complete a regular season sweep, defeating South 6-1 in London for the victory. South’s J.J. Ramey drilled a home run on the first pitch of the game, prompting the only momentum South would ever gain. The Tigers would tie things up in the top of the second inning, as Austin Smith’s groundout would score Andrew Saylor, who drew a walk and traversed the base paths.
Clay would pull away for good with another run in the 4thinning, as Smith singled on a 1-2 count to score Cameron Farmer on a throw at the plate. The Tigers would explode for four more runs in the 5thinning to close things out. Colby Howard tossed a complete game as he collected the win, tossing all seven innings for the Tigers in a dominant effort.

Barbourville – Revenge was a dish best served cold, as the Tigers avenged their loss to Barbourville with a 4-1 victory last Thursday. Clay got off to a hot start as Colby Howard singled on a full-count to bring home leadoff man Chandler Hacker. Barbourville would respond quickly with a run of their own.
The game would go scoreless until the 4thinning, as Clay hitter Noah Smith would crush a deep home run to left scoring himself, and courtesy runner Hogan Hinkle. Smith was on double duty, as he tossed a complete game effort to collect the win, allowing seven hits while striking out five. Howard would single to right field to score Chandler Hibbard from 2ndbase to record the final run.

Letcher Central – The Tigers weathered a major comeback effort from Letcher Central on Saturday afternoon, winning 10-5 on a cloudy, chilly day. Clay would take an early 1-0 lead on the heels of a Colby Howard RBI single to bring home Chandler Hacker, however the Tigers would quickly fall behind 3-1 as Letcher would get hot early in the 2ndinning.
The Tigers wouldn’t be behind long, as they’d push back, and push back hard. Clay would score five runs in the 3rdinning to keep the offensive battle going, taking a 6-3 lead. Letcher would score another in the bottom of the third, 6-4. Clay would then again score another, 7-4 Tigers. Letcher would add another in the 4thas well to score their 5thand final run.
The Tigers would finally get the best of the Cougars, as they pushed across three more runs over the course of the final three innings, winning in outstanding fashion, 10-5. Clay would outhit Letcher 11-6 in the home victory.

Bell County – Clay dominated the Bobcats on Monday night 11-1 as they won their sixth straight contest. Once again, Colby Howard continued his insane hot-streak at the plate, smacking a single in the 1stinning to score Chandler Hacker from 3rdbase. Bell would get three outs to get out of the jam.
Clay would score five runs in the 2ndinning, as John Gilbert would smash a 2-out single to left field brining home Connor Farmer and Chandler Hacker. Cameron Farmer would then single to left, scoring Gilbert. The highlight of the inning was Andrew Saylor’s triple, scoring Howard and Farmer. Clay would command the game with a 6-0 lead.
Bell would hold Clay scoreless up until the 5thinning, where the Tigers would again surge for five more runs. Bell would post their lone run in the 5thinning as well. Blake Mills tossed the complete game effort for Clay, allowing only 1 hit, while striking out 5.
