After seven tough games this weekend, Ambush baseball is ready to get right back at it and keep grinding. The team hosted a tournament in Manchester this past Saturday, as the top teams in the mountains were in attendance, all showcasing their skill. Coaches Chris Hughes and Jeff Hyde were more than proud of the boys, and were thrilled with the effort they put forth.
Catcher Kyler Hughes led the way at the plate going 11-14 on the day, while collecting 9 RBI. The Ambush defense was more than impressive, as they made play after play all day long. An opposing coach said the infield consisting of Silas Hyde, Bryson Hubbard, Kaden Grubb, Connor Caplinger, Korey White, and Brantley Dezarn had an outstanding day, and it was the best he had saw them play.
Isaiah Jackson astounded the coach of the South Fork Express when he robbed a triple catching a line drive on the run. Jaxon Asher hit the longest ball of the tournament, while Connor Young had a staggering triple in the final game. Jacob Bowling and Gavan Holland rounded out the roster with several offensive and defensive contributions.
