The CCMS Tiger baseball team wrapped up their season last weekend, as they placed 2ndin the Conference tournament. Tiger coach Brad Crawford was sad to see their season end, but knew the boys had come a long way. “Overall, we had a great season,” said Crawford. “Every player we had worked extremely hard all season and got better.”

The Tigers defeated Knox 3-1 in the first round, North Laurel 4-3 in the second round, then ultimately fell to Corbin 7-1 in the championship game. “Our pitching and defense seemingly were our weak spots,” said Crawford. “However, we worked extremely hard and the boys are so coachable. They bought into what we told them, and it carried us throughout the tournament.”

The Tigers finished the season with a 15-6 record, showing that their future is extremely bright. This group nearly won a state title in Little League play, and have showcased that they are capable of the spectacular. “These are wonderful, wonderful kids,” said Crawford. “They’re all like sons to me, and I love each of them dearly. They have plenty of baseball left to be played, this is only the beginning of their successes.”
