The Louisville football season is set to begin on Saturday. Yes, after an offseason of uncertainty amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be football on Saturday. 

The Cardinals are scheduled to play Western Kentucky. The last time the two teams played, Louisville won 38-21. Louisville leads the series 21-12. 

On paper, the Cards look to be the favorite, picked as a 12-point favorite by Bovada, but Western Kentucky has talent. The Hilltoppers are coming off a 9-4 season and return DeAngelo Malone, one of the best defensive linemen in the country.
