Patterson dies in crash

A single-vehicle crash on U.S. 25E Thursday claimed the life of Daniel Patterson, 61.

A single-vehicle accident at Flat Lick on U.S. 25E near the Bell/Knox County line earlier Thursday claimed the life of 61-year-old Daniel Patterson.

Kentucky State Police report they received a call about 2:49 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 about the wreck. Troopers responded and began investigation.

A white 2002 Chevy S-10 pickup truck, driven by Daniel Patterson, 61 of Cannon, Ky., dropped off the roadway and flipped into the median where it flipped multiple times, ejecting Patterson. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner.

Police say Patterson was the only occupant in the vehicle, and that drugs and alcohol are not suspected at this time. The accident remains under investigation by Tpr. Sammy Farris.

Other responders working the scene of the accident were East Knox Fire Department, Bell County EMS and Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins.
