County, City proclaim National American Indian Heritage Month

Knox County Judge Executive Mike Mitchell joined Barbourville Mayor David Thompson at city hall on Thursday October 31, 2019 for the signing of a proclamation. National American Indian Heritage month was established in August, 1990 by then President George H W Bush, an expansion of a week long commemoration begun in 1976. The goal is to highlight Native American culture, achievements, and influence. The proclamation was sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
