housing

Those in recovery from opioiod addiction often find themselves with few resources, even after the healing process has begun. Housing plays a vital part in the recovery process and in helping shape those affected by the disease into productive members of the community. One step at a time.

Now two federal agencies are looking to help on a local level. The USDA for Rural Development has teamed with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. They formalized an agreement that allows nonprofit organizations to purchase homes from the USDA at a discount; so long as the nonprofits convert them to transitional housing for those in recovery, among other requirements.
