Jennifer Lynne Barnes Riley passed away August 19, 2019, at her Girdler, Kentucky home after a long illness. Jennifer was born to Donald and Wilma Smith Barnes in Hamilton, Ohio and lived there a short time before returning to Girdler, Kentucky where she was a life-long resident. Jennifer graduated from Knox Central High School and Eastern Kentucky University. Jennifer earned a nursing degree and worked as an RN before becoming a devoted mother and homemaker. She united in marriage to Roddy Riley on December 17, 1994 and to this union three daughters were born. Jennifer was a member of and pianist at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Barbourville Garden Club.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bill and Bertha Smith and John Barnes and Agnes Short; her uncles: Curtis Smith, Johnny Barnes and Charles Barnes and her aunt: Betty Justice
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 24 years, Roddy Riley of Girdler, Kentucky and her three daughters: Hannah Marie (19); Audrey Claire (10); and Charlotte Elise (7). She is also survived by her parents: Donald and Wilma Smith Barnes of Girdler, Kentucky; one sister: Sherry Abner (Jamie) of Cannon, Kentucky; and one brother: Ryan Barnes (Courtney) of Irvine, Kentucky.
Jennifer is also survived by three nieces: Amanda Stark and Alexis Stark of Cannon, Kentucky and Ava Barnes of Irvine, Kentucky; her mother and father in-law: Ronald and Jessie Riley of Nicholasville, Kentucky; four aunts: Betty Smith of Richmond, Kentucky, Louise Bargo of Barbourville, Kentucky, Gail Siefert (Jim) of Bethel, Ohio and Shirley Camp (Will) of Meta, Kentucky; and one Uncle: Jerry Barnes (Karen) of Lake Mary, Florida.
Jennifer is also survived by three very special life-long friends: Darolyn DesGroseilliers, Kathy Hawn and Shannon Moler.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Riley will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Duncan and Reverend Jerry Vaughn officiating. Friends may call on the Riley family Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM. Friends may also offer condolences before and up to the time of service on Thursday, beginning at 12:00 PM.
Interment will be immediately following the service at the Gilbert Cemetery in Girdler, Kentucky with Alexander Phipps, Ethan Phipps, Charleston Dixon, Adam Farmer, Bobbie Jones and Kevin Barnes serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Hospice of The Bluegrass and Corbin Oncology.
Interment will be at the Gilbert Cemetery in Girdler, Kentucky, immediately following the service.
