On Thursday, March 14, Kate Miller will speak to the Knox County Democrat Woman’s Club at Union College Student Center, Heritage Conference Room at 6:00 pm. Kate joined the ACLU of Kentucky as Program Associate in 2008 and currently serves as the organization’s Advocacy Director. She is the ACLU of Kentucky’s chief lobbyist in the Kentucky General Assembly. Kate is privileged to visit the Knox County Democratic Women’s group for their March 14th meeting to provide a review of the 2019 legislative session.
For this meeting, Kate will focus on the rights of women in the Commonwealth; the ACLU’s work on justice reform is also deeply connected to the rights of women since Kentuckians incarcerate women at the 5th highest rate in the nation.
All women regardless of their political affiliation are welcome to attend. For more information call Dora Sue Oxendine Farmer, 606-546-3940.
