Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is shown to be the number one killer of student athletes each year, many of which could have been prevented with a simple examination.

That is why Knox Central High School is partnering with the MCORE Foundation to screen students for the cardiac conditions and abnormalities which may put them at risk of SCA.

The time requirement is approximately 10-12 minutes per student and each student will be receiving both an EKG and Echo screening.  The best part is, students do not have to leave the school to have the screenings completed.

The cost? The only cost is 10 minutes of time during the school day to be screened. The Baptist Health Foundation Lexington offers Heart to

Play preventative screening programs to assist athletes with the cost of screenings through the MCORE Foundation.

All MCORE screenings are performed by registered cardiac sonographers and

results are read by MCORE Foundation medical director and team of pediatric cardiologists.

To reserve your screening time please go to or  Click “Schedule Screening” and choose Knox Central High School.

If you have questions or need help registering please contact MCORE Foundation at 866-382-2319.
