A free entrepreneurial workshop is coming to Union College on Monday, August 26. The program will last from 5:30-7 p.m. The session is the first in a series hosted by Sustainable Ventures Corporation and Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.
The meeting will include a reading and discussion session on the book, “Who Owns the Ice House?” and an introduction to Opportunity Discovery Canvas.
“Please join fellow community members, business owners, and entrepreneurs to develop your entrepreneurial mindset!” reads a statement from program organizer Bobby Clark. “Whether you have been in business for a while or have an idea about starting a business, this FREE program is for you or a friend or member of your family.”
Drawing from eight core concepts, the program enables participants to learn directly from the firsthand experience of real-world entrepreneurs who share their knowledge and experience throughout the course. Participants will learn to:
• Identify and evaluate opportunities that others overlook
• Transform a simple idea into a sustainable success
• Embrace an entrepreneurial mindset as a life-skill
• Identify and overcome self-limiting beliefs
• Interact with local entrepreneurs for critical guidance and support
The workshop will take place in room 3130 of Sharp Academic Center on Union College’s campus. Registration for the free event is required, and can be done through https://icehousebarbourville.eventbrite.com/.
The program is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
