Two Corbin women were indicted on Friday for allegedly defrauding the government out of nearly $20,000.

According to the Knox County Grand jury, Christy Blake Adams, 42, of Corbin, allegedly, “acting alone or in concert with others, committed the offense of Program Assistance Fraud, by knowingly and unlawfully making a false statement or misrepresenting facts affecting the eligibility for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits and thereby fraudulently obtaining SNAP benefits to which she was not entitled.”

Additionally, Kendra Renee Bain, 26, also of Corbin was indicted on the same charge, allegedly obstaining  $7,606.06, in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

A status hearing was set for June 28 in Knox Circuit Court.
