Q: What are your thoughts about the scrimmage?
A: Really pleased with our effort and lack of blown assignments. We played a ton of kids, especially on the defensive side of the ball. We feel like we have 24 or so kids that can play defense for us this year. Depth is really looking good.
Q: What are some positives you can take from the scrimmage?
A: Our offensive line looks a year older, stronger and more experienced. I felt like we knocked people off the ball better than we have the last two years. I was really happy with our backs. We have a proven back in Ethan Mills, but we needed our other guys to step up and they did. Trace Floyd, Seth Huff and Micheal Bays all looked good carrying the ball. Our effort and depth on defense also.
Q: What are some concerns?
A: Still need depth on the offensive line.
Q: Did any players step up or stick out?
A: Just as a whole I thought our defensive backs took a step forward. We have experienced guys at all positions except DB. Still some open doors for guys to step up and claim those positions.
