Mr. Thomas Francis Tepiew Adams, 65, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019 at his home. He was born July 16, 1953 in Keshena, on the Menominee Indian Reservation, in Menominee County, WI and was a member of that tribe. His birth parents were Rosa Gladys Adams and William Tepiew. At an early age, he was adopted by his maternal grandparents, Lether F. and Rhoda Adams.
Thomas was talented artist and a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church. He attended Cumberland College and Eastern Kentucky University in Corbin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his birth parents and adoptive parents, he was preceded in death by several other relatives.
Survivors include a daughter, Shawna Moore; an adoptive sister, Wanda Hudson and husband, Van, of Barbourville; an adoptive brother, Wayne Adams and wife, Dianna, of Barbourville; two grandchildren, Kobey and Kylee Moore; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 22 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Michael DeLand officiating. He was laid to rest in the Partin – WilsonCemetery.
Casket bearers were Jeffery Adams, Cameron Hudson, Michael Goins, David Warren, Jaxen Warren and Nathan Holt.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
