Mrs. Winnifred Jean Mace age 88 of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania departed this life on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 3, 1933 in Knox County, one of thirteen children, the daughter of James Leonard Johnson and Velva (Asher) Johnson and the widow of William Jessie Mace

      She is preceded in death by her husband William Jessie Mace, her parents, James Leonard and Velva Johnson, one brother, Earnest, and four sisters, Pauline, Dora, Mary and Alice.

      Left behind to mourn her passing, six children, Sandra Holloman of Georgia, Debbi Doty and husband John of Pennsylvania, Laura Novak of Alaska, Stephen Clark of Kansas, Bobby Schweingruber and wife Angela of Corbin, Kentucky and William "Bill" Mace and wife Mary of Michigan, two brothers, Jack Johnson and wife Wanda and James Johnson and wife Sherry all of Louisville, Kentucky, five sisters, Irene Watkins of Gary, Indiana, Patricia Payne , Rose Mullins and Sheila Boyd all of Carrollton, Georgia and Pamela Warren of Pendleton, Kentucky, twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. 

      Funeral services for Mrs. Mace will be conducted on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buster Liford officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery at Gray, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be, Jack Johnson, James Johnson, Billy Mace, Geno Cima, Mondo Cima and Jeremy Hawn. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. 

      The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
