Barbara “Barbie” Laws, 54 of Brownies Creek, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Pineville on October 13, 1965 and was the daughter of Herbert and Helen “Jennie” Hacker Phipps. Barbie believed in the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Phipps; brothers, Ray Phipps and George Albert Phipps; sisters, Vandetta Charles and Ethel Marie Brock,
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Douglas Laws; children, Aaron Laws, Benjamin Laws, Kendra Johnson and husband Travis, Jacob Laws, and Andrew Laws and wife, Vanessa; grandchildren, Levi Laws and Madison Johnson; mother, Helen “Jennie” Phipps; brothers, Frank Phipps and wife, Melissa, Jerry Phipps and wife, Laura, Herbert Phipps, Jr. and wife Judy, Jesse Phipps and wife, Cuba, and Nelson Phipps and wife, Lorene; sisters, Amanda Helton and husband, Bill, Evelyn Howard, and Geneva Brock and husband, Reed; mother-in-law, Mable Laws, and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 22 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Lord of the Pineville Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
