David Wilson Phipps, 67, of London formerly of Bell County, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at St. Joseph London. He was born in Pineville on October 3, 1952 a son of Elsie McGeorge Phipps and the late Wilson Phipps. He was a member of Moss Chapel Baptist Church and he loved his church. He had worked for Delta Gas as a Service Man. David was a selfless person who was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time on his pontoon and fishing and deer and squirrel hunting. David was also enjoyed wood making and loved spending time in his garden.
Survivors include his wife of almost 47 years, Sherry Saylor Phipps; son and daughter-in-law, David Wilson and Melissa Phipps; grandchildren, Rachel Phipps, Wilson Phipps and Harrison Phipps; sister, Stacy Renfro Webb; brother, Sturgill Phipps and wife, Donna; special friends, Jim and Midge Boyer, Terrell and Carolyn Gibson, Michael Hampton and the “Delta Boys” and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1:00PM on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. Terrell Gibson. Music will be by Moss Chapel Choir and Orville Cupp. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY. Pallbearers will be Tyler Renfro, Wilson Andrew Phipps, Tom “Buddy” Smith, Darrell Smith, David Phipps and Eugene Collett. Honorary pallbearers will be James Saylor and David Saylor.
