Bell County was fortunate to escape the worst of the wintry weather that came through southeastern Kentucky Sunday night through Tuesday — The All ‘A’ State basketball tournaments in Richmond had to be cancelled because of the weather. Ice and snow did create some treacherous road conditions, especially in the early morning hours. A big thank you to folks like Pineville mail carrier Angel Bays (above left) who was out on foot Tuesday morning delivering the mail and the Middlesboro Street Department (above right) scraping and salting the roads to make travel as safe as possible.
