The Middlesboro Police Department hosted a Bass Fishing Tournament at Brogan’s Hollow on Saturday, June 6. Dozens of anglers gathered for the inaugural tournament.

Paul Napier and his grandson Zack Napier placed first earning the $1,000 prize. Paul also took home the big fish money pot with a 4 pound 9 ounce largemouth bass. Ronnie Carrie and son Jason took home the second place prize of $500. Matt and Rob Beeler placed third winning $300. Door prizes were also given away at the end of the day. The items given away were donated by sponsors who helped make the event successful.

Officer Chris Barnes and Harvey Johnson want to thank all of those who participated and made the tournament possible. Money raised is going to be split between purchasing equipment for the department and the Middlesboro Police Department’s Cops for Kids Program. Barnes and Johnson are excited with the turnout of fishermen and look forward to making the tournament a yearly event.
