The Pineville Lady Lions are the 7th and 8th grade 13th Region All ‘A’ champions. Pineville improved to 12-0 on the season with a 45-22 win over Harlan in Thursday’s championship game.

The Lady Lions broke open what was a close game for most of the first quarter by scoring the final seven points of the first period and the first six of the second to take a commading 23-9 lead and never looked back. It was 30-13 by halftime and 45-18 after three quarters.

It was the inside duo of Rachel Howard with 17 points and Alyssa Howard with 15 points leading the way. Malley Smith added six points while Kamryn Biliter and Gracie Asher both hit 3-pointers in the win.

Abbi Fields led Harlan with 11 points.

In the semifinals, it was the Lady Lions getting past Middlesboro 41-23.

Malley Smith led the way in that one with 22 points. Ava Arnett added nine points, Alyssa Howard eight and Gracie Asher two.

Middlesboro was led by Keevie Betts with 13 points.
