This was the scene last Wednesday night in Polly Hollow after an offier-involved shooting.

A Middlesboro man is dead and the Kentucky State Police are investigating after an officer-involved shooting last Wednesday in the Polly Hollow community.

Post 10 in Harlan was requested by the Middlesboro Police Department at approximately 8:05 p.m. Wednesday.

41-year-old Daniel Ledford of Polly Hollow died after being shot by a Middlesboro Police Officer, according to the Bell County Coroner’s Office.

His body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

KSP detectives along with KSP’s critical incident response team started their investigation of the incident Wednesday night and it remains ongoing.

Post 10 reported that a male suspect was transported by Middlesboro EMS to Middlesboro ARH Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Bell County Deputy Coroner.

No officers or members of the community were injured during this incident.
