MPD Arrests Mugs

Acting Middlesboro Police Chief Tom Busic has reported several drug trafficking arrests over the past few weeks. The Middlesboro Police Department has made the arrests as a result of investigations conducted over the past several months independently and in conjunction with the Appalachian Narcotics Investigations Task Force.  

Busic add that a good number of the investigations were conducted in response to complaints of drug activity from citizens.

Those recently arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center include:

• William “Flip” North - Trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree.

• Ely “Cowboy” Hembree - 6 counts trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree and 1 count of trafficking in controlled substance - 2nd degree.

• Clifford C. Williams - 2 counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree.

• Billy R. Hughett - 2 counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree.

• Charles Ted Gilbert - 2 counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree.

• Christopher M. Shackelford  - 1 count of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree and 1 count of trafficking in controlled substance - 2nd degree.

• David E. Strunk - 2 counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree and 1 count of engaging in organized crime.

• Latoya Collier - Trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree and 1 count of engaging in organized crime.

• Henry Barnes  - 2 counts of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree.
