Top Gun Fabrication and Powder Coating recently opened in Middlesboro and the owners celebrated last week with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Located at the old Mountain Tarp building at 500 South 30th Street, the new business specializes in custom metal fabrication with durable paint finishes.
“We’re doing custom fabrication on just about any metals, kind of specializing in the roll cage industry for side-by-sides,” said co-owner Todd Becket.
“We also do sand blasting and powder coating. Our powder coating process can give anything metal a durable paint finish.”
At Top Gun, they strip and coat metal with an electrostatic charged powder coating process that turns the powder into a durable painted finish of any color by baking it. It is baked at 400 degrees at a recommended amount of time. The process works for anythng from off road vehicles to patio furniture.
The business is quickly becoming a favorite place to have ATVs customized with roll cages and tree kickers.
“With the roll cages we’re doing custom made front and back bumpers, tree bars, anything special you want on it,” co-owner Jeff Bowling said. “Everybody wants to give their ride a unique identity and we do that for them.”
Top Gun can also cut out sheet metal to make signs for businesses or yard art.
“With the table we have, we can take any kind of image on line and cut it out of a piece of metal,” Becket said.
Examples of their work can be found on the Top Gun Fabrication Facebook or Instagram page. For more information call 606-302-1101.
Bowling added that the company has plans to add about a dozen new jobs over the next year.
