Pineville Mayor Scott Madon swore in recently elected Pineville School Board members Brittany Lynch and Chris Arnett prior to Tuesday’s meeting.
The board elected their officers for 2021: James Golden will remain as chairman with Mary Steele becoming vice-chair and changed the time of their regular meetings to 4 p.m. on the third Monday of each month.
The school returned to in-person classes for students in grades K-6 this week and will welcome back the 7th through 12th graders on Monday. Superintendent Russell Thompson praised the work the adminstration and staff have done in handling the pandemic.
“I have heard a lot of compliments on Mrs. McDermott for her leadership during this virtual time. Everybody is gung-ho to get back in full capacity as soon as we possibly can,” he said.
