On Saturday February 9, in a 69-52 win over the Barbourville Lady Tigers. Bell County Lady Cats coach David Teague collected his 200th win as a head coach.
Teague now sits at 202 wins after topped Pineville during the last week of the regular season and Middlesboro in the first round of the 52nd District Tournament.
He is only five wins behind Bell County’s all-time leader in wins by a basketball coach. Former Bobcat coach Ed Whitaker went 207-86 during his time at Bell County.
Teague is finishing his 11th season at the Lady Cat head coach. During his tenure, the Bell County program has produced:
— 3 52nd District titles
— 1 13th Regionl title
— 3 1,000 point scorers
— 1 Ms. Kentucky Basketball winner
— 1 State Tournament appearance
Teague’s overall record stands at 202-92 heading into the 13th Region Tournament. The Lady Cats take on South Laurel at 6 p.m. Thursday in their first round game at the Corbin Arena.
